Artist Rens Lipsius is hosting the second edition of Classique sur Canapé in his “Ideal Artist House n ° 2”, as part of the “Program without Program”.
Self-taught, passionate about nature and science, the Dutch multimedia artist is internationally recognized for his work - painting, photography and video - questioning conventional ways of living with art.
Rens Lipsius' works are notably visible in his seven “Ideal Artist Houses”, an experimental and architectural project questioning the relationship between art and space.
ARTIST IN THE BUSH
"Artist in the bush" is a project initiated by Rens Lipsius in favour of the preservation of the environment and nature.
During a stay in Zimbabwe in 2019, invited by Untamed Traveling (tour operator) and African Bush Camps, Rens Lipsius will for six weeks produce from his ephemeral workshop (in the bush and open-air) oil studies in using local products as materials and his hands as tools. At the same time, he was involved in humanitarian work and joins anti-poaching missions.
Back in Paris, Rens Lipsius prints a hundred numbered and signed lithographs and a book whose sales are donated to the African Bush Camps Foundation.
During his last stay in March-May 2020, he produced new works and encouraged other artists, architects and musicians to follow this approach. 25% of sales are donated to "Mother Africa". His latest works are currently exhibited at Rens Lipsius Studio / Ideal Artist House on the Canal Saint-Martin in Paris.
Throughout this second edition, Classique sur Canapé will make you discover the sensitive work of this artist!
